More from Military Connection’s Greatest War Movie Series
The list of war movies of the 2000’s is a long one! In fact, there are probably too many 9/11 movies on Netflix and other streaming services to count. But, in case you want more, here are a few additional modern war movies which didn’t quite make the top ten list but are still well worth a watch!
- Body of Lies – In this American war movie with al-Qaeda references, a CIA agent comes up with a bold (and dangerous) plan to capture a terrorist.
- Brothers – When one brother is shot down and presumed dead in Afghanistan, the other vows to take care of his wife and children in his absence.
- Sandcastle – In this Iraq war movie based on a true story, a young soldier is tasked with restoring water to a local village.
- Stop Loss – An American-Iraq war movie which tells the tale of a Veteran whose contract is reinvoked, just as he is about to settle into civilian life.
- Thank You for Your Service – This movie about Iraq war Veterans tells the story of two soldiers as they adjust to civilian life after returning from service.
- The Wall – When two soldiers answer a distress call in the Iraqi desert, one finds himself in a fight for survival against an unseen sniper.
- War Dogs – Danger ensues when two young men exploit a government initiative and find themselves providing arms to Afghan forces.
