MilitaryConnection.com Joins National Notary Association to Promote Notary Training for Veterans in Phoenix at No Charge

As part of the coalition to improve the lives of Veterans, MilitaryConnection.com is proudly joining forces with the NNA, who will be offering free notary training to Veterans in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, June 2, 2014 during the NNA 2014 Conference.
A notary public is appointed by a government authority to serve the public in non-contentious legal matters. Usually, these issues concern estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, and foreign and international business.
Most service members who deployed utilized a notary public to appoint a power-of-attorney prior to their deployment, or to process other needed documents. Among a notary’s main functions are administering oaths and affirmations; taking affidavits and statutory declarations; witnessing and authenticating the execution of certain classes of documents; taking acknowledgments of deeds and other transferences, providing exemplifications and notarial copies; as well as performing certain other official acts depending on the jurisdiction.
Due to the handling of many important documents, sensitive information, and serious subject matters, a notary must be an honest and dependable person. Not only do notaries need to pay attention to detail, but honorable notaries will make sure that those who utilize their services present valid identification, are aware of what they are signing, and are willing to sign the document, especially when it comes to the elderly.
Becoming a notary public is a logical step for many Veterans who wish to work in a civilian capacity where they can still help people, while upholding the highest standards of service and consumer protection. This is why the NNA believes that Veterans make great notaries.

The complimentary training funded by the NNA’s philanthropic arm, the National Notary Foundation, will offer something for every Veteran interested in working in the field. If you are just hearing about working as a notary public for the very first time, the NNA training will provide you with a broad overview of what notaries do and the variety of industries that need notary services. If you are a Veteran already working as a notary, the training provided by the NNA could help you specialize in a specific notary skill such as becoming a Signing Agent handling mortgage loan signings, or teach you how to market yourself to signing services and employers who hire notaries.
The 2014 NNA Conference will be held from June1-4 at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix, 122 N 2nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
Normally, day passes for the conference are $159. But the NNA is waiving the cost of admission for Veterans. The complimentary notary training will be held on Monday June 2nd for any Veteran with a valid DD-214. Veterans are requested to register in advance, and select the “Veterans Day Pass” option for their complimentary training.
