Military Connection Awards “Veteran Employer Salute” to CR England

There are few companies that go above and beyond in their effort to provide Veterans with careers that exceed expectations – employers who will compensate Veterans for their military occupational experience, provide sustainable income at a company that also provides opportunities for advancement. Military Connection is proud to honor these select few companies with the “Veteran Employer Salute.”

The Veteran Employer Salute is awarded in recognition of employers who walk the walk and talk the talk, valuing military service by providing premium employment opportunities for those who serve, past and present.. Veterans who frequent MilitaryConnection.com are well served by these employers who go to great lengths in their efforts to say, “Thank you for your service.”

Military Connection would like to honor C.R. England with the “Veteran Employer Salute.”

Family-owned C.R. England is customer and employee focused, and is the largest temperature-controlled carrier in the nation. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT, the company has a reputation for providing great careers for Veterans of the Armed Forces. C.R. England trucks can regularly be seen on highways throughout the country.

The shipping giant is at the forefront of the industry when it comes to training Veterans and acknowledging their military experience behind the wheel. C.R. England’s own truck drivers train at one of five training facilities around the country: Burns Harbor, IN; Dallas, TX; Fontana, CA; Richmond, IN and Salt Lake City, UT. Upon completion of the 17 day course, new drivers can apply for their Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL).

Along with drivers, C.R. England is looking for Veterans to fill a myriad of positions in other fields, such as account management, recruiting, logistics and sales. Another accolade for the company is that there is always room for advancement. Veterans who started as drivers have gone on to become supervisors, instructors, account managers and planners. Drivers can even lease or purchase their own trucks and drive for C.R. England as independent contractors.

Additionally, C.R. England makes special compensations for Veterans who are looking for employment. The company waives the $5,000 tuition fee for truck driving school with a 6 month commitment, and also allows Veterans with a CDL and driving experience to fast-track through training.

What many people may not know when they see C.R. England’s trucks on the road is that it is highly likely that the truck is being driven by a Veteran. In June, the company took great pride in christening five new trucks and trailers that are Veteran themed. The trucks, driven by selected Veterans, have “Honored Veteran” painted on the recognizable red C.R. England cab, with patriotic designs in red, white and blue. Veteran drivers at C.R. England are also issued complimentary “Honored Veteran” ball caps at driving school, as well as “Honored Veteran” shirts, decals for their trucks, and challenge coins. C.R. England is set to unveil five more “Honored Veteran” trucks for Veterans Day, 2014.

C.R. England recognizes service from all branches, including former and current members of the National Guard and Reserves. The company is committed to hiring 350 more Veterans by the end of this year, bringing their total number of Veteran employees to over 1,300! C.R. England, we salute you!
