| I recently received my Certificate of Eligibility, which didn’t say anything about my College Fund (“Kicker”) or Buy-Up. Your Certificate of Eligibility provides you with basic information concerning your eligibility to the Montgomery GI Bill. It does not contain information about any additional monies you may be entitled to, such as the College Fund (“kicker”) and the $600 buy-up. Your monthly payment amount (including any buy-up or kicker payments) will be included in an Award Letter we send once you have enrolled in school and we are notified of your enrollment by the school or training establishment. If your College Fund (“kicker”) and/or Buy-Up is not included in your award letter or monthly payment, or you are unsure of whether these payments have been included, please contact VA using the “Ask a Question” tab above, or by calling 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551).
