Military Children Get Creative with MCEC Call for The Arts 2021
The Military Child Education Coalition’s (MCEC) Call for the Arts 2021 is open for submissions. Call for the Arts was created in 2002, and since then, thousands of children from all over the world, representing every branch of the military, have shared their art. Military-connected children in grades K-12 are invited to create artistic reflections on the topic of “The View from My Home.”
Military children live in so many areas of the world, and many move every few years. These resilient kids tend to have a unique perspective about what home means and what it’s like to be part of a military family. As April is the Month of the Military Child, now is the perfect time to share this contest with military-connected families within our communities.
Contestants can submit original artwork, photos, songs, or creative writing that reflect the theme. This could reference anything from the family dynamic, to the community, to the people and places that make their world so special.
Entries are broken down into three school-age categories: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. A winner will be selected from each category and the winning artists will receive a $100 Amazon gift card. Additionally, winning artwork may be included in the MCEC 2022 calendar and recognized on MCEC’s social media channels.

Submissions must be attached to a completed MCEC Call for the Arts 2021 Entry and Release Form and received by June 1, 2021. Winners will be announced between July 19th and 21st.
