Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting Accepting New Applicants

The Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting is accepting new applications for the 2009-2010 school program. Throughout the 11-month course, students will travel the world, fine-tuning their war fighting skills while earning a master’s degree. The program takes place in Quantico, Virginia at Marine Corps University.

From July-June, Marine majors participating in the program are required to read over 20,000 pages of text book material and will visit battlefield sites in the United States, the Philippines, Vietnam and Europe. Upon graduation, Marines will most likely be assigned a two-year Marine air-ground task force planner position.

Only the top Marine applicants will be admitted and officers yielding a lieutenant colonel select rank will not be eligible to apply. Applications consist of a 500-word essay, personal interview and a potential student’s master brief sheet that specifies the student’s professional career. The application deadline is October 10.
