| Hunting for jobs can be stressful One of the most stressful parts of job hunting can be figuring out what potential employers are looking for. Regardless of whether you are a soon-to-be college graduate looking for a first job, or a seasoned employee searching for a different job, human resource experts say there are ways to determine if you’re a good candidate for the job. One common misconception people searching for a job have is thinking they have to be a complete master of the job. That’s not what employers are looking for. Companies expect to have to do some training with their new employees. Sometimes a job listing will ask for preferred or required qualifications. Don’t let that discourage you from applying for that position because you may have other experience that offsets a preferred or required qualification. For example, college graduates often have experience in retail sales or public relations that translates to a valuable quality for the employer. Job seekers also shouldn’t let a job title steer them in a different direction either.
