| How to get a job that fits you perfectly If you are unemployed, your job is finding a job. Put your 40 hours in to your job-seeking plan. Start with an honest self-assessment. At a minimum, this assessment should include your strengths and weaknesses, unique “transferable” skills, talents and abilities and your career interests. Additionally, think about your passions, purpose, what you enjoy, are good at and long-term career objectives. Establish your criteria for a “right” fit position and company. Research companies of interest. Consider investigating “great companies to work for.” Search company web sites, recruiters specializing in your field and job boards. Investigate the company before your interview. Try to interject your knowledge of their company during the interview. Be prepared to answer the common interviewing question: “Tell us why you would fit in here?” Market yourself and be creative.
