September 19, 2013 Military Connection is excited to announce the addition of two U.S. Military Veterans to their staff. Through their website, MilitaryConnection.com, the company is committed to supporting those who serve, past and present. Known as “The Go To Site”, the website serves as a portal of valuable resources and information for military, veterans and their families and supporters. Debbie Gregory, CEO of Military Connection, said of her two new hires, “I have always been proud of the role that Military Connection plays in helping Veterans find jobs. I also like to prove that we walk the walk in that department as well.” The two new hires are Andrew Ayres & Joe Silva. Ayres, Military Connection’s new Marketing and Outreach Intern, is a Navy Veteran (Retired) who served from 1992-2012 as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ). AZ1 Ayres served at HC-11, COMSTRATCOMMWING ONE, HSL-49, FRC SOUTHWEST, and VAW-113. He is now a Post-911 GI Bill student attending California State University Channel Islands, where he is majoring in Business. Ayres said of his new job, “After a twenty year career in the Navy, I’m looking to find my niche in the civilian world. I think it’s great that I can do that here, at a place where I can also help other veterans do the same.” Joe Silva, Military Connection’s new Staff Writer, is also a Navy Veteran (2004-2009), who served as an Operations Specialist and made the rank of E-5. OS2 Silva served on the USS Ogden (LPD-5), the USNS Rainier (TAOE-7) and the Naval Expeditionary Guard Battalion, Guantanamo Bay. A 2013 Graduate of California State University Channel Islands, Silva earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English, using the Post-911 GI Bill. “I’m very excited to join the Military Connection team,” said Silva. He added, ” It feels great, not only having a job where I can utilize my degree and talents, but also having the opportunity to give back to a military community that I am proud to be a part of, that has given so much to me.” The addition of MilitaryConnection.com’s two new veteran employees will complement the existing staff, who strive to serve those who have served.
