2012 CALIFORNIA WOMAN VETERAN LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
MilitaryConnection.com is proud to promote the CalVet Awards for Women Veterans. We are pleased that CalVet is recognizing the achievements and contributions of women who have served in the military. According to a Pew Research Center study, the number of women serving on active duty has risen dramatically. The share of women among the enlisted ranks has increased seven-fold, from 2% to 14%, and the share among commissioned officers has quadrupled, from 4% to 16%. Women are also taking on all types of roles and sever in military occupational specialties (MOS) across the board. In addition, many are wives, mothers and daughters. CalVet Women Veteran awards will recognized the 2012 Woman Veteran of the Year for outstanding leadership and the second award will be given as a lifetime achievement in leadership.
