As we approach Veterans Day on November 11th, MilitaryConnection.com honors and thanks America's Veterans. On this day we all come together to pay tribute to those who serve our nation, past and present. We appreciate all of the sacrifices that you have made for us to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. We recognize the many sacrifices by family members and appreciate them very much. President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of "Armistice Day". In 1938, Armistice Day was declared a legal holiday, to be observed on November 11th. In 1954, the Act was amended, replacing the word "Armistice" with the word "Veterans", and November 11th became the day we honor all American Veterans. In that spirit, we have tried to find as many special offerings for those who serve, past and present.

MilitaryConnection.com is dedicated to serving military, veterans and their family members, 24/7. We invite you, your friends and family to take advantage of the multitude of resources and information provided free to our users. When the next tour is home, it's on MilitaryConnection.com, The Go To Site.

Discounts for Veterans

Many businesses honor Veterans and Servicemembers by offering Veterans Day discounts on goods, services and dining. Most businesses require some proof of military service, which could be a VA Universal Access Card, Military I.D., DD-214 (Discharge Papers) or in some cases, a picture of the veteran in uniform will suffice. We apologize in advance if you are unable to take advantage of any of the discounts or freebies due to the lack of acceptable I.D., non-participation of your local establishment in their national chain's Veterans Day programs, etc. We have personally checked and verified the participation of the companies we have listed here , but we still advise calling ahead in case a reservation is required
