There are 1.7 million American children under the age of 18 who have a parent serving in the military, and approximately 900,000 with one or both parents on multiple deployments.

For many years, April has been designated as the Month of the Military Child, emphasizing the important role military children play in the armed forces community. April is the month that we all recognize the sacrifices these children make, and honor them for their character, courage and resilience. With that said, we have some exciting news for military families. ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is searching nationwide for a military family who could use a break. Interested families or those who wish to nominate another family, please scroll down to the EMHE logo for details.

MilitaryConnection.com would like to take this opportunity to salute one of our national treasures, musician and actor Gary Sinise. Gary is a dedicated supporter of those who serve in uniform, be it in the armed forces, police department or fire service. Gary and the Lt. Dan Band perform at many events that are open to the public, but much of their calendar is filled with concerts dedicated to supporting our veterans, military volunteers and their families. Upcoming fundraising shows will benefit US Marine CPL. Todd Nicely, Operation Support Our Troops, The Independence Fund and the USO. We hope you will check out the Lt. Dan Band’s schedule and support them when they play in your area. They are amazing musicians and you will be in for a treat.

We’d like to thank you for your continued support of our website. When the next tour is back home, it's on MilitaryConnection.com - The Go To Site.

Sincerely,

Debbie Gregory, CEO
