As I write this, today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day. On this day in 1944, Allied troops stormed the beaches of France in the epic D-Day invasion, an act that proved pivotal to the Allied victory in Europe. The cost of the invasion was high; of the 100,000 troops that came across the English Channel by sea and air, about 9,000 were killed or wounded. There is a sense of honor and commitment felt by those who don our nation’s military uniforms, from the fresh-faced 18 year olds to the seasoned Veterans. We owe them all a debt of gratitude for protecting the freedoms we hold most dear.

Best regards,

Debbie Gregory, CEO

Taking Care of Business

All Wounded Warrior Bryan Anderson wanted was to raise enough money to rebuild the house of his buddy and Purple Heart recipient Tony Wood. After losing both of his legs, his left arm, and parts of his right hand, Bryan thought not of himself, but of the friend who was constantly at his side during his recovery. The idea that Tony and his wife and their twelve kids (two biological, ten fostered or adopted) were living in a house that was falling apart was too much for Bryan. Enter Gary Sinise, one of the greatest friends to our military, Veterans and first responders. Through the Gary Sinise Foundation, Bryan's wish will come true and the Wood’s family home will be rebuilt. Gary never publicizes his good works, and he never sends out a press release. Gary Sinise truly is a national treasure.
