That’s where you come in. You vote, you elect your representatives, and it is up to you to make sure that your voice is heard. If you have served in the military, you have done your part. But now it’s up to you to make sure your future needs are met. If you haven’t served, the very least you can do is call or email your representatives to make sure that those who did are rewarded for doing so. You can locate your elected officials at and

Supporting Legislation

Hearing Test

Tending to Hearing Issues

The military health care system is second to none when it comes to caring for severely wounded warriors. But most Veterans need non-critical, but absolutely necessary, healthcare issues tended to. For many Veterans, one of these needs is a hearing aid. Veterans of WWII, Korea and Vietnam often wait six months or longer for appointments with VA audiologists. While some Veterans choose to pay out of pocket to see a private audiologist, they shouldn’t have to. House bill H.R. 3508 was introduced in November, 2013 by Rep. Sean Duffy (WI). The bill eases the requirements for hearing aid prescribers, to include those with associates degrees from VA approved institutions. For more information, click here.

Some issues require specific expertise, such as financial resources, legal advice or medical services. The Veteran peers at Vets4Warriors will work to find the best options for the caller and help make the connection in their local communities. The Vets4Warriors Peer Support Line is funded by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. For any issue, at any time, a Veteran is there to help. For more information, click here.

Putting Veterans to Work

On April 1st, Senate Bill S.2190, The Hire More Heroes Act of 2014, was introduced by Senator Roy Blunt from Missouri. The purpose of the bill is to ease the financial strain on employers who hire Veterans or Reservists who have healthcare through the military’s Tricare network or through the VA’s healthcare system. By amending the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow employers to exempt employees with health coverage under TRICARE or the VA, the employer can lower the number of employees mandated under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Please let your elected officials know that you support legislation that helps Veterans find jobs. For more information, click here.
