November is a month of giving thanks. Veterans Day afforded us, as a nation, to thank our Veterans and their loved ones for their service and sacrifice. On Thanksgiving Day, we express gratitude for the things we are fortunate to have in our lives. As we sit down to our holiday table, we need to remember that not every family has the same opportunity to be together. Military families make these kinds of sacrifices daily. Strong, independent military spouses, as well as parents, siblings and children are keeping home and family together, while their loved are missing family celebrations. I hope that during this season of giving, you will remember the families of those who serve.

Additionally, I want to share with you our support of OTT13367, the Vow to Hire Heroes Extension Act of 2013. This bipartisan bill would not only extend the work opportunity tax credit for hiring veterans through December 31, 2016, it would also allow qualified tax-exempt organizations eligibility to receive payroll tax credit for hiring veterans. The current bill, a win-win for Veterans, employers and businesses, has stimulated Veteran hiring, but is set to expire on December 31st, 2013. Please join me in contacting your elected officials at and and urge their support. For a one page analysis of this bill go to:

Best regards,

Debbie Gregory, CEO

You can buy a home with ZERO down, and in many cases, at no cost! At VetsCanSave, we offer FHA, VA, and Conventional mortgages nationwide, and our clients benefit from an additional mortgage management program called ArcLoan®. Automatic Rate Cut (ARC). High Five to Gary

Gary Sinise

Honor. Gratitude. Rock & Roll.

As the final season of CSI:NY winds down, Gary Sinise is looking forward. After working with other non-profit organizations for years, Gary launched the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011. To date, they have raised more than $11 million for military families, active military, and disabled vets, mostly from concerts around the world headlined by Gary’s band, the Lt. Dan Band. If this was what Gary was able to accomplish on a “part-time” basis, just imagine the possibilities! A benefit fundraiser for the Navy Yard victims and a salute for the troops at the Kennedy Center is in the works for December. To see if the talented group of musicians in the Lt. Dan Band will be in your area any time soon, click here.

Keeping the Pearly Whites Healthy

The VA is partnering with Delta Dental and MetLife to allow eligible Veterans and family members receiving care under the Civilian Health and Medical Program (CHAMPVA), to purchase affordable dental insurance. This three-year pilot program has been designed for Veterans with no dental coverage, or those eligible for VA dental care who would like to purchase additional coverage. Participation will not affect entitlement to VA dental services and treatment, and there are no eligibility limitations based on service-connected disability rating or enrollment priority assignment. Hotline for Women Veterans

VA Hotline

Making Sure SHE Gets the Message

Women make up nearly 15 percent of today’s active duty military, and 18 percent of National Guard and Reserve forces. Despite these increasing statistics, women constitute only six percent of VA’s total patient population. A dedicated VA hotline — 1-855-VA-WOMEN —receives and responds to questions from Veterans, their families and caregivers about the many VA services and resources available to women Veterans. The call center receives incoming calls and inquiries about VA care and other services for women. If you have questions regarding eligibility, benefits, health care and other services, give them a call. Agents are also trained to respond to crisis situations such as suicidal behavior, homelessness, sexual trauma, and domestic violence.
