What is the Montgomery GI Bill?

The Post-9/11 GI Bill makes direct payments to the schools chosen by Veterans, while the Montgomery GI Bill pays benefits to students, giving them the responsibility of paying for school. The monthly benefit depends on 1) when you entered service, 2) how long you served, 3) type of education you choose, and 4) whether the Service member put extra money (kicker) into their GI Bill (For Montgomery GI Bill only).
