This years USO Honorary Golf Chairman and Celebrity Host is former Dodger and current Dodger baseball announcer, Rick Monday. Along with his 19 season career in Major League Baseball,Rick, a former Marine,is also know for his 1976 rescue of an American Flag from two protesters attempting to burn the flag on the field during a baseball game at Dodger Stadium. The 2009 Media Hosts is the Dodger Radio Network and KABC 790 AM and KLOS 95.5 FM.  17 September will be the third time USO golf has been staged  at the magnificent Trump National Golf Club along LA's beautiful California coastline

Celebrities from film,TV,radio,stage and sports will participate in this annual fund raising tournament at Trump that will help enable the local USO centers to provide hospitality services and a "safe haven" at the Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX  the USO at the Ontario Airport and the USO Lounge at the Palm Springs Airport.

Rick Monday will receive the Bob Hope "Thanks for the Memory" award at the evening awards program for his service,dedication to the morale support of American troops and for his USO and other patriotic activities.

Locally providing support to more than 70,000 traveling US military personnel and their families annually, the USO (United Services Organization) is a non profit organization chartered by Congress. Receiving no government funding, the USO accomplishes its military support mission solely through the generosity of patriotic citizens,businesses and organizations who provide private donations,contributions,sponsorships or support to fundraising events like the golf tournament. The local USOs are staffed completely by almost 500 volunteers and depends on those that care for the continued operation of the three airport LA area USOs.
